SSI began as the vision of one man, the late Harry "Eddie" Murphy, who opened the doors in 1979. He established the company's missions - Providing customers with "quality service completed in a timely and professional manner." Since that time, SSI grew to and has remained a strong competitor in the Northern Virginia HVAC industry. In addition to SSI, Eddie also co-founded Southwest Youth Association (SYA) in 1973 from the basement of his own home. It has grown to be one of the biggest youth organizations in Fairfax County. SSI prides itself in being able to give back to its own community.
