The results of the first six months of 2013 are in, and the HVAC industry is continuing to enjoy steady growth, according to a recent article by Matt Bishop for Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News. In fact, as Bishop reports, āmany in the industry are boasting prerecession returns heading into the second half of 2013.ā
Reinforcing this attitude is the fact that the Air Conditioning Contractors of Americaās (ACCA) Contractor Comfort Index (CCI) reached an all-time high of 77 in May and June of this year ā nearly 30 points higher than the CCIās standard rating for anticipated growth, 50.
Of course, itās not entirely surprising that the CCI registered higher ratings in the warmer late spring and early summer months, when rising temperatures typically lead to busier work for air conditioning experts. Still, itās certainly encouraging news for the thousands of HVAC contractors across the country. Bishop attributes this growth to other factors as well, including the slowly stabilizing economy and the relative quiet in Congress on HVAC-related legislation thus far this year.
There are other, more indirect advantages to a steadily growing HVAC industry, of course, In addition to boosting the economy, a strong HVAC industry encourages motivated individuals to consider a career in the field. And thatās a positive outcome for everyone.
